Ministries at Center Church

Missional Communities

A Missional Community (MC) is simply a group of people that makes disciples together. If you have been in church before, this is the way we do “Small Groups” or “Community Groups”.  Connecting with an MC is the best way to start building meaningful relationships, growing in Christ, and making a difference in our community.

Center College

Center College is on-grounds ministry at UVA where students can grow in their faith and learn how to share the gospel with others. Whether you are a Christian looking to grow deeper in your faith or you aren’t sure what you believe, we’d love to help you build some meaningful relationships and learn more about Jesus.  If you submit an interest form one of our college staff members will be in contact with you.

Center Kids

We love kids and are passionate about partnering with you to help raise your child in Christ.  Each Sunday kids learn about Jesus in a safe, fun and age appropriate environment. Over the course of 3 years, our Center Kids team will teach your child the entire Bible using the Gospel Project Curriculum.  We take the safety of your child seriously and utilize a secure check in system and require background checks and training of all Center Kids volunteers.

Missions & Local Outreach

We’re passionate about seeing lives change by the gospel here in Charlottesville and part of that is making a difference in our community.  We formally partner with several local ministries including Thrive Pregnancy Centers, Loaves & Fishes Foodbank and Meaningful Meals Mentoring at Jackson-Via Elementary School.  We also encourage each of our MC’s to adopt a local ministry and many of them have done so. To learn more about our local outreach efforts ask your MC leader or email Justin (justin@centercville.com).

We’re passionate about seeing lives changed here in Charlottesville and also around the world.  To that end our International Missions Cohort meets monthly to pray for and learn more about people around the world who have little access to the gospel.  To learn more about that group email Alex Hannis (alexhannis@gmail.com).  We also offer various short term missions trips each year.  Keep an eye on this page and on church communication for details regarding future trips.

Kingdom Diversity

In the Bible we learn that the Kingdom of God is a diverse kingdom ethnically, economically and generationally.  As a result we desire to reflect the diversity of our community while proclaiming the diversity of God’s Kingdom.  To help us more faithfully do that we’ve established the Ephesians 2 Plan and Ephesians 2 Team.  The goal of the E2 Plan and E2 Team is to help Center Church increasingly reflect the diversity of our community while proclaiming the diversity of God’s Kingdom.  To learn more about the E2 Team email Russ Griffith (griffirg@hotmail.com).
