What are Deacons?

Deacons are the church’s “lead servants.” Their ministry is to serve the church members’ practical needs while the elders provide spiritual leadership through teaching and shepherding. Deacons are to be of high character and ready to respond to the needs of the church; qualifications for this office are outlined in 1 Timothy 3:8-13.
