International Missions

Jesus’ final words to his disciples included the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). For thousands of years, the loving compulsion to take the good news of the gospel to all nations and make disciples has been the heart beat of God’s church. We too long for God’s glory among all nations! Here are a few ways we prioritize international mission work here at Center Church:

1) Prioritize work among unreached and unengaged people groups

2) Prioritize church planting work

3) Prioritize work that seeks develop faithful native church leadership

International Missions Cohort

The IMC is a group of people at Center Church, passionate about God’s glory among the nations, who gather together monthly to pray for unreached and unengaged people groups. This group is made up of many who have spent significant time as international missionaries and those who are processing a calling to international missions. Contact Graham Reynolds (Graham.Reynolds@centercville.com) for more information!

Local Outreach

Center Church partners with a number of local organizations to strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the “least of these” in our community. Our partners include local schools, Thrive Pregnancy Center, and Loaves and Fishes Food Bank.

Refugee Ministry: Center Church seeks to love and serve our refugee neighbors through friendships, ESL tutoring, driving lessons, and soccer. For more information or to get involved, contact Clara Bullard (cmb7ba@virginia.edu) and Kendall Barger (ksbarger92@gmail.com).

Ministry To Those Experiencing Homelessness: Our desire is to love those around us who are less fortunate. We attempt to share truth and hope by building intentional relationships with people in our community who are experiencing homelessness. Practically that looks like walking the Downtown Mall, praying for people who are experiencing homelessness while also providing food and basic necessities. We seek to learn our homeless friends’ stories and offer them rides to church. While we share the “good works” of Jesus our ultimate goal is to share the “good news” of Jesus so that our friends might come to know him. For more information or to get involved, contact Alyssa Fohner (amfohner@yahoo.com) and Mike Schumacher (mwschumacher@liberty.edu).
